What to Expect
The massage experience can sound intimidating if you have never experienced it before. No worries; here is what to expect when working with Journey Massage:
Appointments are booked via phone or email. I may have a few questions regarding your goals during this initial conversation.
If it is your first appointment with Journey, please arrive 15 minutes before your session time. You will be asked to fill out a couple intake forms with questions about your health history, allergies, and goals for massage.
Before the massage, I’ll check over the forms, ask follow-up questions as needed, and work with you to get a complete picture of how to best meet your needs. If you are a returning client, we’ll discuss any changes and any effects of our previous work together.
Payment must be made before the massage via cash/check. Tips are appreciated, but entirely optional! I currently cannot accept card payments, but am working toward this and should be able to soon.
After the intake process, you will be left in private to undress down to your comfort level and get comfortable on the table. I will always knock before reentering the room.
Once the massage starts, your job is to relax, breathe, and communicate any needs (pressure, comfort, tender areas, etc.) with me.
After the session, I will ask how you’re feeling and assess any changes needed for the next appointment.
Last, but not least, make sure to hydrate well, enjoy the benefits of your massage, and don’t forget to book your next appointment!
As a Licensed Massage Therapist, it is my priority to maintain a high level of professionalism. To that end, you can expect to be treated with respect and all sensitive info kept confidential. Please feel free to ask questions regarding this at anytime.
